Christopher Scott, DMD, MD

Dr. Christopher Scott brings a distinguished and multifaceted background to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. After growing up in Alaska, Dr. Scott completed his undergraduate studies with honors at Stanford University, earning a degree in International Relations. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Dr. Scott completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center known for its high surgical volume and complex case diversity. There, he received advanced training in facial trauma, head and neck pathology, dental implants, orthognathic surgery, TMJ disorders, anesthesia, and reconstructive surgery. He further specialized by completing a fellowship in cleft and craniofacial surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he cared primarily for children and adolescents with congenital craniofacial abnormalities including cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, and hemifacial microsomia.

Dr. Scott’s dedication to academic excellence and service has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Colgate Post-Graduate Residency Scholarship and the Indian Health Service Pre-Dental Scholarship. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and presented his original research at national and international meetings, including the AAOMS Annual Meeting and the International Association for Dental Research.

Before entering the field of surgery, Dr. Scott served in the U.S. Marine Corps for ten years, attaining the rank of major and leading humanitarian and combat missions across Iraq, Pakistan, and Southeast Asia. His military leadership and commitment to public health within Native American communities have shaped his patient-first approach and deep sense of service. He continues to serve as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Dr. Scott is an active member of professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Known for his compassionate demeanor and evidence-based care, Dr. Scott is dedicated to providing exceptional surgical outcomes while making every patient feel at ease.
